LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Repeal.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That sections three hundred and
seventy-three A, three hundred and seventy-three B, three hun-
dred and seventy-three C and three hundred and seventy-
three D, of Article eleven of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title " Frederick County," sub-title " Middletown," as enacted
by the act of eighteen hundred and ninety, chapter three hun-
dred and twenty-two, be and the same are hereby repealed.

Effective,

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved March 27th, 1896.

CHAPTER 97.

AN ACT to allow the legal and qualified voters of Taney-
town, in Carroll County, Maryland, to decide by ballot
whether or not town coupon bonds, not exceeding the sum
of twelve thousand dollars, shall be issued by said town
for the purpose of providing a proper water supply for said
town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That at the election to be held in the town of Taney-
town, in Carroll county, Maryland, on the first Monday in
May, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-six, for Burgess
and Commissioners of said town, that the question whether
or not said town shall issue coupon bonds to the amount of
twelve thousand dollars, or less, for the purpose of providing a
proper water supply for said town, shall be and is hereby
directed to be submitted to the legal and qualified voters of
said town; and in order to advise the citizens of said town of
the intent of this act, it shall be the duty of the Commission
era of Taneytown to publish in some newspaper or newspapers
of general circulation in said town, the substance of this act,
for two weeks previous to said election, and by such other
notice as they may deem necessary and proper.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the election provided for
in section one hereof, shall be held in the same manner and
mnder the same rules and regulations as are elections for Bur-
gess and Commissioners for said town, and the ballots shall
