CHAP. 38.

together with the landing at the end oi said road, shall, and
is hereby declared to be, from and after the passage of this
act, a public road and landing of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the road and landing laid
down by the commissioners, under the act of eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-four, chapter one hundred and forty-two,
on the land now owned by Edward Tilghman, shall cease to
be a public road of Kent county, or cease to be used as such,
and that the said Edward Tilghman, shall have the same
right to the said road and landing, and hold them by the
same title, as the former proprietor, before the act of eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-four, chapter one hundred and for-
ty-two, or before they were laid down by the commissioners
aioresaid, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

An act to empower the Levy Court oj Kent county, to grant
relief to indigent persons of said county.
|
Power to Levy for
pensions
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall and may be lawful for the levy court of
Kent county, and thej are hereby authorised and empower-
ed, to grant and allow out pensions, from and after the pas-
sage oi this act, to be levied on the assessable property of
said county, to such persons in said county, as they in their

judgment and discretion may think reasonable and right;
Provided, That no pension granted by virtue oi this act, shall
in any case exceed the sum of thirty dollars per annum, for
each person so placed on the pension list of said county.

Further powers
and directions.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the levy court of said
county, shall have power, and they are hereby authorised
and directed, in all cases, where they have been required by-
law to levy on said county, a specific sum of money for the
support and maintenance of any poor person of said county,
to exercise a disci etion, and levy in all such cases, so long
as they may think the person entitled, any sum of money not
exceeding the amount directed to be levied in such cases, as
they in their opinion may think reasonable and right, any
law to the contrary notwithstanding.

An act to fix the compensation of Supervisors of Public Roads
in Ptince Georges's county.
|
Commisison.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Levy Court of Prince Georges' county, be, and they are
hereby authorised to allow to supervisors of public roads in
said county, any sum not exceeding two dollars per diem
for their services, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
