CHAP. 124

Obstructions may
be removed and
sold.

SEC, 7. And be it enacted, That if the obstructions is,
said alley so to be widened, be not removed within thirty
days after the return of the said commissioners as aforesaid
or within thirty days after the final decision by Baltimore
county court in case of an appeal, the said commissioners shall
cause such obstructions to be removed at the expense of the
city, and to sell and dispose of the materials of any building
or buildings constituting such obstructions for the benefit of
said city.

Compensation to
commissioners

SEC. 8. And be it enacted. That the said commissioners
shall each receive, as a compensation for their services, two
dollars per diem, for every day they may act as such, which
compensation shall form a part of the expenses of widening
said alley, and shall be assessed and collected in manner a
foresaid.

Approbation cf
Mayor and City
council required.

Sec, 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall hare no effect,
unless the same shall be approved by the mayor and city
council of Baltimore.

 

CHAPTER 125.

Passed March 7.

1828,

An act for the relief of Temperance Hudson, of Kent county.

Divorce—name
changed.

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That Temperance Hudson, of Kent county, be, and
she is hereby divorced from bed, board and mutual cohabi-
tation, with her husband James Hudson; and that the name
of the said Temperance Hudson is hereby changed and alter-
ed unto the name of Temperance Newnam, and she shall at
all times hereafter be called and known by, and hold and use
the name of Newnam only, and by such name shall sue and:
be sued in any court of law or equity

Hudson's claims
annulled —— legal
rights granted.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all the right and title which
the said James Hudson, by virtue of his marriage with the
said Temperance, now has or may have in any lands, tene-
ments, hereditaments or personal estate belonging to the said
Temperance, whether the same be held under a marriage
contract or by any other ways or means whatsoever, shall be

and the same are hereby declared to be null and void; and
the said Temperance Hudson be, and she is hereby declar-
ed capable to have, hold, take, receive, sue for and recover,
by compromise, suit or suits in law or equity, all such proper-
ty in as full and ample a manner as if she were a feme sole
and had never been married; and to hold use and enjoy the
same for her own use and benefit, and the same to dispose of
according to her will and pleasure, without the molestation,
interference, hindrance or consrnt of her said husband, or of
persons claiming by, from or under her said husband, in the
same manner she could or might have done were she a feme
sole.

Claims of wife

SEC, 3. And be it enacted, That the real and personal estate
of the said James Hudson shall be, and hereby is discharged
