Towne Chapter, D.A.R. of Upper Marlboro compiled a valuable
volume of the tombstone inscriptions of Southern Anne Arundel
County.

We have continued to subscribe to The William and Mary
Quarterly, The American Archivist, and The Journal of Southern
History. Our Records Management Division receives Administra-
tive Management, NMA Monograph, Records Management Jour-
nal and publications of the National Microfilm Association. All
of these are valuable to us for keeping abreast of professional
news, events, and developments.

We purchased more books than usual during the 1969-1970
fiscal year. Among these were A Chronicle of the Mother Church,
Quakerism on the Eastern Shore, American and British Geneal-
ogy and Heraldry, A Preliminary Guide to Church Records Re-
positories, and The Columbian Atlas of the World We Live In.
Through exchanges, we received publications of the National
Archives, and the archival institutions of such states as Dela-
ware, Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and
Tennessee. We also continue to exchange publications with local
historical societies.

We received numerous codes on deposit during the year.
These included those for Annapolis, Baltimore, Bowie and Ed-
monston, and for Charles County.
