LIBRARY
As usual, our library grew slowly and for the most part
through gifts, subscriptions, exchanges, and deposits. During the
1969-1970 fiscal year, we added 155 titles. Our library now con-
sits of nearly 8,700 items.
Many donors presented valuable materials for our shelves,
but only a few can be mentioned here. The Cresap Chapter,
D.A.R. of Cumberland gave an abstract of Allegany County Land
Records, libers B.C. and D. Paul Clarkson and Samuel Jett pre-
sented a copy of their new biography of Luther Martin. Aubrey
Land donated a copy of his new edition of William Eddis', Let-
ters From America. The Genealogical Society of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Inc. continued to add to its
valuable collection of genealogical finding aids. The Marlborough
