AGREEMENT OF DEPOSIT

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this November 3,
1969 by and between the Library of Congress (hereinafter "Library")
and the Hall of Records Commission of the State of Maryland (here-
inafter "Hall of Records").

WITNESSETH THAT:

WHEREAS, the Library has in its collections the documents
enumerated on the attached Schedule, having acquired title to the same
by purchase, in 1867, of the renowned Peter Force Library with public
monies appropriated by the Congress for this purpose; and

WHEREAS, the Hall of Records desires to have custody of said
materials because of their relationship with other items in the collec-
tions of the Hall of Records; and

WHEREAS, the Library deems it desirable to cooperate with the
Hall of Records by depositing said materials with the Hall of Records
for an indefinite period, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth.
