ARCHIVIST OF THE HALL OF RECORDS 51

Prince George's County. The success of the program there prompted
the Clerk of Court in neighboring Montgomery County to establish a
similar program last year. Again, as we had in Prince George's and
Montgomery Counties, we worked with the Clerk of Court and the
Bar Association of Anne Arundel County, and through our joint
efforts, obtained the approval of the Comptroller for the necessary
expenditures to establish the program. In order to train the personnel
for the project, we decided to begin filming the financial statements
July 1, 1968, and the land records January 1, 1969, using the same
procedures and type of equipment employed in the other two counties.
