Anne C. Grigg began the year as Stenographer, Accounting, but
resigned October 24, 1961. She was succeeded by Mrs. Kilborn, as has
already been noted, and Mrs. Kilborn was followed by Genevieve G.
Rehn. By all odds, this is the most difficult position to fill at the Hall
of Records. The combination of skills demanded is so uncommon in this
area that we are rarely in a position to compete for it.

Program 2.

An additional photographer was added to our staff by order of the
Board of Public Works on December 6, 1961. The purpose was to
hasten our program for microfilming county records. This new position
was held for some weeks by James O. Shumate, Jr. He was followed by
Ronald C. Saddler, who was appointed on May 23, 1962.

Program 3.

Jackson S. Saunders resigned as Public Records Examiner Novem-
ber 21, 1961. He had been offered similar work at a higher salary in
the State service and felt obliged to accept this favorable offer. Mr.
Saunders had been with us since December 1956. No replacement was
found during the fiscal year.

Alvin Meyer, Senior Clerk, resigned from the staff of the Balti-
more Record Center, August 15, 1961; he was replaced by Donald L.
Bullock September 27th following.

The Record Center in Annapolis also lost one employee: Martha L.
Hardesty, Senior Clerk, resigned October 10, 1961, and she was re-
placed the next day by Mercedita Ramirez.
