Brown and Mrs. Truman Hienton gave a typescript copy of "The Oaths
of Fidelity of Prince George's County, Maryland, 1778." They had
compiled this work from our own records, adding a valuable proper
name index. The late Professor St. George L. Sioussat donated the ten-
volume set of Messages and Papers of the Presidents by James Rich-
ardson, while we received from Jean Stephenson a copy of Genealogical
Research Methods and Sources, which was compiled by the American
Society of Genealogists.

We have continued to receive copies of local history and profes-
sional journals through gift, exchange and subscription. These include
The Journal of Southern History, The William and Mary Quarterly,
The American Archivist and the Journal of the Society of Architectural
Historians. The historical societies of Carroll, Garrett, Montgomery and
St. Mary's Counties have continued to send us their publications.

As during past years, we have confined our purchases to essential
items. These included The United States Government Organizational
Manual, a biography of Augustine Herman, The Presbyterians of
Baltimore and Their Records, by Boulden, and the two-volume History
of the National Capital', by Bryan.

We are especially glad to note additions of Annotated County
Codes to our collection.
