LIBRARY

Our library continues to grow, but at a deliberate rate. During the
past year, we acquired 116 titles. Some of the items added this year
represented periodicals which we regularly receive, while others consti-
tute new and welcome additions to our shelves. As in previous years, we
have limited our purchases to a very few items.

During fiscal year 1959-60, we received many gifts, only a few of
which can be mentioned here. From John N. Pearce came a copy of
his Master's Thesis submitted to the University of Delaware entitled
"Early Baltimore Potters and Their Wares, 1763-1850." John R. Heller
III presented a copy of his Senior Thesis at Princeton University on
"The Growth of Democracy in Maryland, 1790-1810." Mrs. Irving
