ARCHIVIST OF THE HALL OF RECORDS 19
PHOTOCOPYING
It is gratifying to report that our photographic department enjoyed a
most successful year. We provided fewer photostatic copies for private search-
ers, but in every other field the quantity of work accomplished exceeded that
of the previous year. The larger number of photostatic pages for "Other State
Agencies" is accounted for mainly by the copies of budget amendments which
the Department of Budget and Procurement furnishes the Finance Committee
of the Senate and the Ways and Means Committee of the House of Delegates.
There were, in addition, many copies of Acts of Assembly needed by the De-
partment of Law.
A statistic which may be of interest to the members of the Hall of Rec-
ords Commission is found hidden in the total of microfilm pages — the pro-
ceedings of both the Senate and the House, which are filmed here after each
day's session, amounted for the long session to exactly 14,646 pages. Our
microfilm operator also filmed 214 volumes of Anne Arundel County Land
Records and 72 volumes of church records. This film was added to our col-
lection and will be described more fully in "Accessions."
