Miss Edna E. Jensen, who was employed by the Hall of Records on July
30, 1953, and who had given us excellent service as librarian and assistant in
the Research Room, resigned February 7, 1956. Miss Jensen, who had come to
us from the historical branch of one of the armed services, became a full-time
student in the Graduate School of American University where she expects to
earn the degree of doctor of philosophy in American history. Since her position
was not filled during the remainder of the fiscal year, she has been included
in the list of staff members. Constance B. Tollevik, a valued employee of the
Hall of Records since July 11, 1947, resigned May 29, 1956. Mrs. Tollevik
had married in October 1954 and she advised us at that time that she would
not continue to work indefinitely. Mrs. Tollevik was one of our oldest em-
ployees in point of service and it was with deep regret that we accepted her
decision to leave. To fill the position of senior account clerk vacated by Mrs.
Tollevik, we employed Mrs. Carrie B. Hine, May 7, 1956.

By special authorization of the Hall of Records Commission and the
Board of Public Works we were able to employ two temporary staff members
