mation by supplying schools, colleges, and other institutions of
learning with information concerning the industries, natural
resources, agriculture, recreation, government, and history of the
State; and to further promote the interest of the State of Mary
land and its products in such manner as the Department may
deem advisable. In the performance of the duties, the Director
shall work in cooperation with State Archivist.

(b) The Director and employees of said Department shall re-
ceive such compensation and shall be allowed such monies for
performing the functions herein prescribed as is provided in the
budget.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
