dence equally with the original photographs, photocopies, or
microphotographs.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the same
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistencies only.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 755
Since 1941 the Hall of Records had shared with the Board of Public
Works the responsibility for disposing of non-current records. No one had
the authority, however, to schedule the disposal of records in advance, so
that every timie the future of a record had to be judged it was new business.
It was decided, therefore, that some sort of advance scheduling should be
tried, and a bill was introduced modeled after the Federal Statute now in
force. At the same time we attempted to define materials which are "non-
record" in nature and so may be disposed of by the record custodian with-
out consultation with anyone. We also thought it wise at this time to
make it possible for the Clerks of Court and Registers of Wills to dispose
of certain of their "housekeeping" records.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
127A of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition and 1947 Supplement), title "Governor—Executive
and Administrative Departments", sub'title "Hall of Rec-
ords Commission", and to add two new sections, said new
sections to be known as Sections 127B and 127C, and to
follow immediately after Section 127A of said Article, pro'
viding for the disposal of certain types of records, for a
definition of "record" and for the scheduling of periodic
destruction of certain types of records.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 127A of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition and 1947 Supplement), title "Governor
