ARCHIVIST OF THE HALL OF RECORDS 37

Accessions of printed materials were approximately the
same for the last fiscal year as for the two previous ones. As a
matter of fact, our accessions are never likely to vary much so
long as our appropriation for the purchase of printed materials
remains fixed ($100) and so long as we consciously restrict the
number of institutions with which we will exchange our own
publications.

Examination of the materials listed below will discover a
large number of items which were presented to the Hall of Rec-
ords by the Reverend Daniel R. Magruder and Miss Rosalie S.
Magruder, administrators of the estate of the late Commodore
Peter H. Magruder of Annapolis, who died January 6, 1946.
The administrators of the Magruder estate graciously offered
the Archivist any part of the library included in the estate which
he thought would be useful at the Hall of Records.

All the following materials were accessioned and cata-
logued during the year:

American Association for State and Local History Bulletin, Vol. I, No. 11,
Washington, D. C., 1946. Gift.

AMERICAN DOCUMENTATION INSTITUTE, Catalog of Auxiliary Publications in
Microfilms and Photoprints, Washington, D. C., 1946. Gift of the
American Documentation Institute.

Baltimore Furniture, the Work of Baltimore and Annapolis Cabinetmakers
from 1760 to 1810, Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore, 1947. Pur-
chase.

BEIRNE, ROSAMOND RANDALL and EDITH ROSSITER BEVAN, The Hammond-
Harwood House and Its Owners, Annapolis, 1941. Gift of the authors.

BEIRNE, ROSAMOND RANDALL, William Buckland, Architect of Virginia and
Maryland. Reprinted from the Maryland Historical Magazine, Vol.
XLI, No. 3, Baltimore, 1946. Gift of the author.

BENJAMIN PARK, The United States Naval Academy, New York, 1900. Gift
of the Peter H. Magruder Estate.

Biographical Directory of the American Congress, 1774-1927, Washington,
1928. Purchase.

of the Peter H. Magruder Estate.

BROWN, ALEXANDER CROSBY, The Old Bay Line, Baltimore, 1940. Gift of
the Peter H. Magruder Estate.
