which is to take effect on September 1. When it is considered that
our total professional staff consists of nine persons it will be readily
understood how serious these losses are. Finally I should like to
recommend to you the loyal services of Mrs. Jane Moss and Mr.
Gust Skordas, who came to the Hall of Records in 1937, and Mr.
Roger Thomas and Mrs. Margaret White who were employed in
1942. They are the veterans upon whose collaboration the Archivist
must rely more and more, in spite of the fact that they too are
underpaid.
