ACCESSIONS FROM PUBLIC SOURCES

The past year marked the first full year of the operation of
Chapter 248 of the Acts of 1945 which directed public officials to
transfer all records in their custody dating before April 28, 1788 to
the Hall o! Records Commission. Records were brought in from
several counties and the preliminary arrangements for transfers from
other counties were completed. The results achieved may be largely
attributed to the effect of the law. In every case, however, we were
able to persuade the custodian that removal to Annapolis would be
of ultimate benefit to the records, as well as providing more filing
