ARCHIVIST OF THE HALL OF RECORDS 11

They were rearranged and a new shelf list prepared. About 8,000
folders of the original papers of the Adjutant General were labelled,
but much remains to be done before they are finished.

Church Records. All of the church records have been moved from
their various locations in the Stacks and placed in one alcove on the
second deck. A shelf list has been typed and placed with them.

Court of Appeals Judgments'. Labelling of the folders containing
these papers was begun the year before. Last year about 18,000 fold-

Account Books of Maryland Companies. These books have been
rearranged and listed. They appear to have been exhibits in cases origi-

Court of Appeals.

Anne Arundel County Plats. These plats were received from
the Anne Arundel County courthouse in rolls in seven large cartons.
They were flattened by the Repair Department and placed in folders

consisting of a variety of material, such as Ship Manifests, Returns
of Naval Officers, Election Returns, Levy Lists, Intendant's Accounts,
Western Shore Treasurer's Accounts, etc., have been retained and set
aside until time permits a more careful study of them.

Miscellaneous Executive Papers. These papers have been unfolded,
placed in folders, arranged chronologically and boxed. Although pur-
chased from a private source, they are official papers of the Executive
Department. They have been placed in one of the Executive alcoves
but have been kept together, 1686-1877, 433 folders in 3 boxes.

Shriver Collection. A large collection of material accumulated by
the Harford County Historical Society was given to the Hall of Records
by J. Alexis Shriver, in whose custody it was placed when the Society
disbanded. The volumes have been arranged and listed. Some of the
papers were already in folders and some attempt had been made at
