26 FIRST TO FOURTH ANNUAL REPORTS

During the first two years almost all the circulation was con-
fined to the large Prerogative Court series: Wills, Inventories, In-
ventories and Accounts, Accounts, Balance Books, Testamentary
Proceedings. During the following two years the addition of the Anne
Arundel and Baltimore County Deeds to the holdings of the Hall
of Records is reflected in the circulation totals. Also certain mater-
ials, which had previously had no keys, were indexed and began to
be used: Original Wills, Provincial Court Judgments. The figures
for the first four years are given below:

AIDS TO RESEARCH

The purpose of this section is only to indicate the indexes— no
other finding aids were attempted—which were prepared by the
staff of the Hall of Records. It is not intended to take the place of
a guide to the research aids now in use. For these the reader is re-
ferred to Bulletin No. 7 of the Hall of Records Commission which
lists all indexes transferred to the Hall of Records, those prepared
during the early years and those placed in use since that time.
