Important! Extract of a letter from a respectable
gentleman in Norfolk, to his correspondent in this
elty, dated January 5, 1798. "We have an arrival
from Glasgow in thirty-six days, containing the
following! - That the king of Spain has refused a
passage through his dominions to the French troops
destined to act against Portugal; that Buonaparte
was collecting an army on the coast, to be called,
"the Army of England;" and that the American com-
missioners had been ordered to leave France.., "
Extract of another letter from a gentleman in
Richmond, to the same gentleman, who received the
foregoing, dated January 9, 1798. "We have an
arrival at Norfolk in thirty-six days from Glas-
gow. - She brings accounts of the "American com-
missioners having been ordered out of Paris in
24 hours." ...
