delphia Directory from 1802 through 1805, and it is
likely that he went immediately from Baltimore to
PhiladelpMa. According to Dichter and Shapiro,
several of Shaw's Baltimore publications were reissued
in Philadelphia in 1801 or 1802, with the address
crudely changed on the identical plates.29 Apparently
in 1805 he removed to Boston; he gave his first bas-
soon performance there in 1805.30 The last trace of
Ralph Shaw which the writer was able to find was a
patent issued to him in 1807 for a piano-forte;31
at that time he was still residing in Boston*

Henry Keatinge, Bookseller and Musician. - Henry
Semple Keatinge, bookseller, publisher, and probably

music printer, was a brother of George Keatinge32
who was a publisher and printer in Maryland from 1794
until about 1808, Probably both brothers immigrated
to this country about 1793; George had set up a book-
binding and stationery establishment in Baltimore late

In that year,33 and Henry followed with a book store
and circulating library in September of 1795.34
