The significance of the form, if it should be
proved to be a Maryland form, is that it is the only
extant issue of the Story press during its second
Baltimore period. If it is proved not to be a Mary-
land form, it may be that Story printed it in Balti-
more for clients in some other state and city - what
city, there seems to be no way of ascertaining. It
seems probable, however, in view of the directory
listing and the imprint that it is a Baltimore pub-
lication.
Story disappears from the Baltimore Directory
after 1799. The inference may be drawn that his
printing venture was unsuccessful, and that he ceased
to maintain an independent establishment. He died in
Baltimore on July 2, 1807, at Mr. James Armitage's.102
