known to have been printed in Baltimore, Des Johann
Lusaenius Polltisobe Geheimnis ,101 Francis O'Kely's
poem, The Disjointed Watch,102 an unlocated chart, ap-
parently with religious subject matter, Bine Neue
Charte und Sinnliche Abbildung,105 and Der Neue Hoch
Deutsche Americaniache Calendar, auf das Jahr Christi
1796,104 one of a series of almanacs which Sower had
begun in Germantown in 1791 and which continued regu-
larly until at least 1807.105 Apparently there was
considerable demand for a German and English printing
office in Baltimore.

Hot long after he came to Baltimore, Sower started
another business in which his father and grandfather
had engaged - the bookbinding trade. No advertisement
of this occupation has been found in any contemporary
newspaper, but on the end-papers of the New York Public
Library's copy of the Whole Genuine and Complete Works
of Josephus, printed by William Pechln in installments
