CHAP. 186.

2. And be it enacted, That the said levy court be and they
are hereby authorised and required, to appoint three discreet
and disinterested persons commissioners, to contract for the
building of said bridge on the most reasonable terms, whose
duty it shall be, when they shall have made said contract, to
make a report of the proceedings to the said levy court

3. And be it enacted. That the said sum of two thousand
dollars, shall be collected in the same manner that the county
charges of said county are, and be paid to the said commissi-
oners, or their order, to be applied towards the building of the
aforesaid bridge.

4. And be it enacted, That when said bridge shall bo erect-
ed, it shall be the duty of the said commissioners to report to
said levy court the cost of said bridge.

5. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners be and
they are hereby authorised, to deduct out of said sum of two
thousand dollars, two dollars per day each, for every day they
shall be engaged in contracting for the erection of said bridge.

CHAP. CLXXXVII.
An Act to change the Name of William Connelly, of Dorchester county, to
that of William Smoot.
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of the said William Coanelly is hereby changed
and altered unto the name of William Smoot, and he and his
descendants shall at all times hereafter be called and known by
and hold and use the name of Smoot only, and by such name
shall sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any court oi
law or equity.

2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promises, con-
tracts, assurances, deeds, and lawful acts whatsoever, hereafter
to be made and done by and to the said William Connelly, by
the name of William Smoot, shall be of the same force, validi-
ty and effect, and of equal avail, to all intents and purposes, as
if the name of William Smoot had been the true and lawful
name of the said William Connelly from his birth, any law or-
custom to the contrary notwithstanding.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That Silas Hibberd, John Kinzer and Jacob Shriver, esquires
of Frederick county, be and they are hereby appointed and au-
thorised, to act in conjunction with the commissioners name
in the act to which this is a supplement, to all intents and pur
poses as if they had been named in the original act to which
this is a supplement.
