CHAP. CLXXVI.
A Further Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to establish Slate Ware-
houses for the inspection of Tobacco in the City of Baltimore.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the seventh section of the original act, to which
this is a supplement, as makes it the duty of each inspector to
account for and pay over, monthly, to the treasurer of the
western shore, all such monies as may be paid to him under the
provisions of the said act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

2. And be it enacted. That it shall be and is hereby made
the duty of each inspector to account for, under oath, to the
treasurer for the western shore, and pay over to the said trea-
surer, all monies which have been or may be paid to him under
the provisions of the said act, quarter yearly, to wit, on the
first day of February, first day of May, first day of August,
and first day of November, and in his said accounts to set forth
the number of hogsheads of tobacco inspected, the number de-
livered, and all other the services or considerations for which
his receipts accrued during the time for which he accounts.

3. And be it enacted. That if each inspector shall not pay
into the treasury the money due by such accounts within ten
days after the times specified as aforesaid, he shall be charged
with interest of ten per cent from the said first day of Februa-
ry, May, August or November, as the case may be; and if he
fail or neglect to pay within three months after the times first
limited as aforesaid, his bond shall be put in suit, and he be
ineligible again to his said office of inspector, until he shall
have paid all money due for principal, interest and costs of suit.

4. And be it enacted, That the salary to each of the clerks
employed in virtue of the act, to which this is a supplement,
shall not exceed four hundred dollars annually.

5. A?id be it enacted, That neither of the said clerks shall
be concerned, directly or indirectly, in the buying or selling of
tobacco on their own account, nor in the profit or loss of any
speculation connected therewith, and that they and each of
them, shall take and subscribe an oath to that effect, before
some justice of the peace duly qualified to administer the
same, and deliver the said oath, so taken and subscribed, to
thnir proper inspector, whose duty it shall be to report the same
with his next quarterly return.

An Act to appoint Commissioners for the purpose of dividing Dorchester
County into seven separate Election Districts.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Henry Ivcene, Solomon Kirwan, John Tra-
verse, (Hooper's Island,) John Griffith, Samuel Keene, of
Benjamin, be and they are hereby appointed and authorised,
or a majority of them, or a majority of the survivors of them,
commissioners to lay off said county into seven separate
election districts, and to number the same, having regard to
the population and extent of the same, and the convenience
of the voters, and also having regard to the convenience
especially of that part of the population of said county inha-
