CHAR CLXXI1I.
An Act to repeal the eleventh section of an art, entitled, A further supple-
ment to the act, entitled, An Act to regulate the Inspection of Tobacco.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the eleventh section of the act of December session eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-one, chapter one hundred and ninety-
four, entitled, A further supplement to the act, entitled, An act
to regulate the Inspection of Tobacco, be and the same is here-
by repealed.

CHAP. CLXXIV.
An Act to provide for completing the Records in the Office of Register of
Wills for Charles County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the justices of the orphans court for Charles county be and
they are hereby authorised, to employ Richard Barnes to record
all such papers which remained in the orphans court unrecorded
at the time of the death of the late register of wills of said coun-
ty, which in their opinion require to be recorded, or which are
required by law to be recorded, which said papers shall be re-
corded in a well and sufficient leather bound books, subject to
the inspection of the justices of said court.

2. And be it enacted, That the said justices may allow such
compensation to the said Richard Barnes, for such services, as tc
them may seem reasonable and just, provided the same does not
exceed six cents for every one hundred and five words so record
ed.

3. And be it enacted, That upon a certificate from the jus-
tices of the orphans court as aforesaid, of the amount due to the
said Richard Barnes for recording, under the provisions of this
act, the justices of the levy court are hereby authorised and re-
quired, to levy the same upon the assessable property of said
county, for the uco of the said Richard Barnes.

4. And be it enacted, That the further time of two years
shall be allowed for completing the said records.

CHAP. CLXXV.
An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Frederick County tr
levy a sum of money, and erect an Engine and Hose House in Frederick-
Town.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy Court of Frederick county be, and they are here-
by authorised and empowered, to levy on the assessable pro-
perty of said county, and collect, the sum of five hundred dol-
lars, for the purpose of creeling a suitable house for the use oi
the Independent Hose Company of Frederick-Town.

2. Jlnd be it enacted, That when the money aforesaid is col-
lected and paid into the treasury, it shall ho the duty of the said
levy court to select a suitable and proper site for said building, and
to appoint one or more persons to superintend the erection and
finishing said house, and to allow such reasonable compensation
as they may deem to be right and proper.
