passage of an act, entitled, An act to regulate lotteries, passed
at December session eighteen hundred and seventeen, chapter
one hundred and fifty-four, for the benefit of the said academy,
upon the faith of the act of eighteen hundred and thirteen, chap-
ter eighteen, authorising a lottery to be drawn for the purpose
therein mentioned; provided the said trustees shall relinquish
their right to draw the said lottery.

2. And be it enacted. That the aforesaid trustees be and they
are hereby authorised and required, to apply the money so paid to
them to the discharge of any debt, or liability, which they may
now owe, or may have incurred, for or on account of any mo-
nies advanced for the benefit of said academy.

CHAP. CXXXII.
An Act for the relief of Aquila Beall and Trueman Tyler, of Prince-
Georg-e's County.

WHEREAS by the laws of this state regulating officers fees,
and the manner of their collection, the several officers who are
entitled to charge fees, are required to place their lists of fees
in the hands of the respective sheriffs for collection, and take
their receipts for the same, on or before the first day of March
in each year, in order to make the bonds of the said sheriffs re-
sponsible for said fees; And whereas Aquila Beall, clerk of
Prince-George's county court, and Trueman Tyler, register of
wills of said county, in consequence of being obliged to comply
with an order of the house of delegates lately passed, will not
be able to make out their accounts, and place their respective
lists in the hands of the several sheriffs, from whose counties
said fees are due, by the time above mentioned ; Therefore,

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That if the said Aquila Beall and Trueman Tyler, shall make
out their accounts of fees, which were charged in the year eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-six, and are collectable in the year
eighteen hundred and twenty-seven, and tender their lists to the
respective sheriffs of the several counties from which said fees
are due, by the twentieth day of March eighteen hundred and
twenty-seven, the said respective sheriffs are hereby required to
receive said lists, and give their receipts to the said Aquila
Beall and Trueman Tyler, for the same.

2. And be it enacted, That the respective sheriffs aforesaid
be and they are hereby required to collect and account for said
fees in the usual manner.

3. And be it enacted, That the bonds of the said sheriffs
shall be responsible for the collection, and a true and faithful ac-
count of said fees, in the same manner, and to the same extent,
as if said fees had been placed in the hands of said sheriffs for
collection, on or before the first day of March, any former law
to the contrary notwithstanding.
