AN ACT concerning

Insurance Agents and Brokers - Penalties

FOR the purpose of increasing the minimum penalty that the State Insurance
Commissioner may impose on an insurance agent or broker under certain
circumstances; clarifying language; and generally relating to penalties against
insurance agents and brokers.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 48A - Insurance Code
Section 175A

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 48A - Insurance Code

175A.

In lieu of or in addition to, suspension or revocation of the certificate of an agent
or broker, the Commissioner may impose a penalty of not less than [$25.00] $100 nor
more than [$500.00] $500 FOR EACH VIOLATION OF § 175 OF THIS ARTICLE
from the agent or broker whose certificate is subject to suspension or revocation under
this article.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

Cecil County - Public Facilities Bonds

FOR the purpose of authorizing and empowering the County Commissioners of Cecil
County, from time to time, to borrow not more than $1,600,000 in order to finance
the cost of certain public facilities in Cecil County, as herein defined, and to effect
such borrowing by the issuance and sale at public or private sale of its general
