office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or compensation of the State's Attorney for Dorchester County shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

Workers' Compensation Benefit and Insurance Oversight Committee - Report

FOR the purpose of extending the time by which the Workers' Compensation Benefit
and Insurance Oversight Committee shall examine workers' compensation
benefits and insurance in Maryland and make certain recommendations for
changes; delaying the termination of certain changes to the workers'
compensation laws; making this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating
to the State's workers' compensation laws.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Chapter 590 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1987, as amended by Chapter
11 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1989

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Workers' Compensation Benefit and Insurance Oversight Committee consisting of the
following members appointed by the President of the Senate of Maryland and the
Speaker of the House of Delegates:

(1) 2 members of the Senate of Maryland;

(2) 2 members of the House of Delegates;

(3) 1 representative of the Maryland business community;
