COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

AN ACT amending Section 6.300 "Boards and Commissions in General" to
reflect an amendment to the Howard County Charter providing that board members
who have served 8 or more consecutive years on a board are not eligible for immediate
reappointment.

Effective Date April 10, 1989.

AN ACT amending Section 1.106 "Method of selecting new employees" of the
Howard County Code to provide for the appointment of individuals to permanent
positions in the classified service from a list of the 10 highest eligibles, pursuant to
Section 704 of the Howard County Charter.

Bill No. 9

AN ACT amending Section 15.509 "Provisions governing easement acquired" and
Section 15.604 "Use of land within an agricultural land preservation district" of the
Howard County Code to provide for public interest uses on land in agricultural
preservation districts and on land upon which the County owns the development rights^
and limiting the area on which those uses in the public interest are permitted to no
more than one acre.

AN ACT to add Section 18.124 (eE) to Title 18, "Public Works" of the Howard
County Code to incorporate into the Metropolitan District certain parcel(s) in
Darksville belonging to Willie and Edna Thompson.

AN ACT to add Section 18.124 (eF) to Title 18, "Public Works" of the Howard
County Code to incorporate into the Metropolitan District certain parcel(s) in Ellicott
City belonging to Mangione Enterpises of Turf Valley (Nicholas B. Mangione).
