COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

WHEREAS, In recognition of strong development pressure and rising land costs
in the rural part of the County and the desire to preserve agricultural land and
woodland in order to provide sources of agricultural products within the County,
control urban expansion, and protect agricultural land and woodland as open space
land, the County has an obligation to create tax and other financial incentives to benefit
owners of such land and thus encourage them to enter that land into agricultural
preservation districts; and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 267, Acts of 1989, the General Assembly
authorized the governing body of this County to grant a property tax credit on land that
is subject to the agricultural land preservation program; now, therefore,
