purposes after the expiration of said license, or after said license shall have been
revoked as herein provided, unless said license or renewal of same shall have been
renewed as herein provided, provided that any person so granted a license under the
provisions of this chapter (unless said license shall have been revoked as hereinafter
provided) shall be granted a renewal of said license without examination of the
applicant, provided that application is made to said Board by the holder of such license
within the three-months preceding the expiration of such license, upon the payment of
the license fee as set by the rules, regulations and bylaws of the Board, and said renewal
of said license shall be for a period of one (1) year, and any such renewal of such license
shall have the same weight as evidence in any court of this state as herein before
provided for said original license, provided also that one-year renewals shall be granted
in like manner upon expiration of any renewal of license upon making like application
and paying like fee, within three (3) months preceding the expiration of said renewal.]

38-9.

A. [Restoration.] RENEWAL.

(1) [All licenses expire on June 30] A LICENSEE WHO QUALIFIES TO
RENEW A LICENSE UNDER THIS CHAPTER MAY RENEW THE LICENSE in
each odd-numbered year [and are renewable every 2 years on payment of the] BY
PAYING TO THE BOARD BEFORE JULY 1 A renewal fee [of $50 prior to July 1]
SET BY THE BOARD.

(2) A LICENSEE WHO APPLIES TO THE BOARD FOR RENEWAL
DURING THE 30-DAY PERIOD BEFORE THE LICENSE EXPIRES MAY
RENEW THE LICENSE WITHOUT TAKING AN EXAMINATION.

[(2)] (3) After [July 1] JUNE 30 a person, firm or corporation may not
engage or offer to engage, or hold themselves out as engaging, as a master electrician
unless a license is [restored or reissued] RENEWED.

B. Application.

(1) If application for [restoration] RENEWAL is made [within 90 days
after June 301 AFTER JULY 15 BUT BEFORE OCTOBER 1, a license which expired
because of failure to renew prior to July 1 shall be [restored] RENEWED only [on
payment of] IF THE LICENSEE PAYS TO THE BOARD the renewal fee SET BY
THE BOARD and a restoration fee of $20.

(2) If the application for [restoration] RENEWAL is not made within the
90-day period after expiration, a renewal may not be issued, and the Board may require
compliance by examination, before reissuance of a license, as if the applicant had never
been licensed.

C. Inactive status.

(1) A licensee who holds a valid electrical license may go in an inactive
status during which time the licensee may not engage in electrical contracting within the
county.
