meet with the regional and county core groups responsible for coordination
efforts.

(1) The regional and county core groups shall consist of the following
representatives:

(a) The local superintendent of schools;

(b) The local chief health officer; and

(c) The local chief of police or sheriff.

(2) At the discretion of the County Executive(s) the size of the regional
and county core groups may be expanded, if deemed appropriate.

H. The Commission shall consult with:

(1) The Juvenile Justice Advisory Council;

(2) The Governor's Advisory Board for Justice Administration;

(3) The Maryland State Department of Education Drug and Alcohol
Abuse Prevention and Education Program Advisory Council;

(4) The Governor's Executive Advisory Council; and

(5) The State Advisory Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
I. The Commission may conduct public hearings.

J. The Executive Director of the Commission shall be named by the Governor,
and shall be assisted by no less than one member from each department and
agency whose head serves on the Commission.

K. The expenses of the Commission shall be met through the operating budgets
of the Executive Office of the Governor and departments and agencies whose
heads serve on the Commission, including any federal funds available for the
purpose of administering federal grant programs.

L. In fulfilling its responsibilities, the Commission may call upon State
departments, agencies, boards, commissions, or other units of State government
which shall cooperate to the fullest extent possible and shall provide information
needed by the Commission in fulfilling its mandate under this Executive Order.
The Commission may also request and receive information and assistance from
any other branch of State and local government, the federal government, and the
private sector.
