the following counties: Allegany, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Garrett, Queen Anne's,
St. Mary's, Somerset, Washington, and Worcester Counties.

(ii) In Charles, St. Mary's, Washington, and Worcester Counties,
members of volunteer fire departments [and], rescue squads, AND ADVANCED LIFE
SUPPORT UNITS may be covered under § 34(e) of this article.

34.

(e) In Charles, St. Mary's, Washington, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties, the
county council or county commissioners, as the case may be, may provide by resolution
for the inclusion, in their respective county, of members of volunteer fire companies
[and], rescue squads, AND ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT UNITS as provided in
subsection (a) of this section.

67.

Definitions as used in this article:

(16) "Public safety employee", as used in § 36 of this article, means:

(i) A fire fighter, fire fighting instructor, or paramedic employed by,
or unless otherwise excluded from workmen's compensation coverage under this article,
a volunteer fire fighter or volunteer ambulance rescue OR ADVANCED LIFE
SUPPORT personnel providing volunteer fire or rescue services to:

1. A municipality;

2. A county;

3. The State;

4. The State Airport Authority; or

5. A fire control district; or

(ii) A police officer employed by:

1. A municipality;

2. A county;

3. The State;

4. The State Airport Authority; or

5. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning

Commission.

SECTION 2.
