SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take

AN ACT concerning

Professional Engineers Board - Definitions

FOR the purpose of clarifying the definition of "responsible charge" in the Professional
Engineers' law.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

14-101.

(h) (1) "Responsible charge" means direct control and personal [direction of
the investigation, design, construction, or operation] SUPERVISION of engineering
[work] that requires initiative, professional skill, and independent judgment.

(2) "Responsible charge" includes responsible engineering teaching.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
