Ch. 15 LAWS OF MARYLAND

member of the Commission nominated by the chairman of the Commission shall serve
as chairman of the committee. If any of the members other than the two members
nominated by the chairman of the Commission have not been nominated by June 1 of
any year, the Commission, with the approval of the Secretary of Licensing and
Regulation, shall make these nominations. Each member of the Committee shall be a
resident of the State. Except for the chairman, the term of office for each Committee
member will be 4 years and no member, with the exception of the chairman, may serve
more than 1 consecutive complete term. The term of office for the chairman shall be 1
year. The Committee shall assist and advise the Commission in administering the
Maryland Standardbred Race Program and Standardbred Sires Stakes Program as part
of the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund. The members of the Committee shall receive
no compensation for their services as members, but shall be reimbursed for expenses
incurred while engaged in the performance of their duties, in accordance with the
Standard Travel Regulations.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators, and Moving Walks

FOR the purpose of making certain requirements applicable to elevators, dumbwaiters,
escalators, and moving walks only to the extent the requirements are adopted by
the Commissioner of Labor and Industry; authorizing the Commissioner to amend
by regulation certain requirements; and generally relating to the regulation of
elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and moving walks.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 89 - Division of Labor and Industry
Section 49B(d), (e), (g), and (i)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1985 Replacement Volume and 1989 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
