SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take

Maryland Standardbred Race Fund Advisory Committee
FOR the purpose of altering the membership of the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund
Advisory Committee; repealing an obsolete reference; and generally relating to
the membership of the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund Advisory Committee.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 78B - Racing Commission
17A.
(c) The Maryland Standardbred Race Fund Advisory Committee, under
jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission, is established and shall be a part of
the Department of Licensing and Regulation. The Committee shall consist of five
members to be appointed, when vacancies arise, by the Commission, with the approval
of the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation. The Committee shall be selected as
follows: Two members shall be nominated by the chairman of the Commission, one who
shall be another member of the Commission, and the other who shall be a
representative of a harness track licensee. [One] TWO MEMBERS SHALL BE
NOMINATED BY THE ORGANIZATION REPRESENTING A MAJORITY OF
THE STANDARDBRED BREEDERS IN THE STATE AND ONE OF WHOM
SHALL BE A COMMERCIAL BREEDER AS DEFINED BY THE MARYLAND
RACING COMMISSION. ONE member [each] shall be nominated by the [Maryland
Breeders Association, Inc., the Maryland Harness Horsemen's Association, Inc., and
the] Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association, Inc. Each of these members shall be
selected by a majority vote of the members of the respective associations. The [other]
