Ch. 532 LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply
to the salary or compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court for Cecil County in office
on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court for Cecil County shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

Howard County - Jury Compensation

FOR the purpose of increasing the amount of daily compensation for a juror in Howard
County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

8-106.

(b) A juror shall receive the per diem amount stated in this section for each day
the juror attends court as a juror in:

(14) Howard County — [$12] $20 expense money; no mileage allowance.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
