SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 1 through 33, inclusive, of Article 44A - Housing
Authorities and, in its entirety, Article 44B - Housing Cooperation Law of the
Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:

Article 44A - Housing Authorities

TITLE 1. HOUSING AUTHORITIES IN GENERAL
SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS

1-101.

THIS ARTICLE MAY BE REFERRED TO AS THE "HOUSING
AUTHORITIES LAW".

1-102.

IT IS HEREBY DECLARED THAT:

(1) THERE EXIST IN THE STATE UNSANITARY OR UNSAFE
DWELLING ACCOMMODATIONS AND PERSONS OF LOW AND MODERATE
INCOME ARE FORCED TO RESIDE IN SUCH UNSANITARY OR UNSAFE
ACCOMMODATIONS;

(2) WITHIN THE STATE THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF SAFE OR
