Messrs. Goldsborough and Bradley, as a committee from
the Senate appeared at the bar of the House and extended
the invitation of that body to the House to proceed to the
Senate chamber to 'receive the report of Messrs. Scott, McLane
and Ross, Commissioners on the part of Maryland to the
Federal Government, at Washington ;

Which was accepted,

And the Houser proceeded accordingly, to the Senate.

After some time spent in the Senate, the House resumed
their duties.

On motion of Mr. Denison,

It was ordered to be entered on the journal, that Mr.
Welch was detained from his seat by sickness in his family.

Mr. Chaplain offered the following :

Resolved, By General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor be and he is hereby requested to direct the Adju-
tant General of this State, to furnish to the "Trappe Cadets"
of Talbot county, thirty Cadets' muskets and accoutrements,
upon sufficient bond for the same, and to be delivered upon
the application of the proper authority;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Brining presented the petition of citizens of Washing-
ton county against the passage of the Safety Bill ;

Which was read and referred to the Joint Special Commit-
tee of the House and Senate on reporting business for the
Session.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
The House adjourned.

TUESDAY, May 7th, 1861.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev,
Father Sourin.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members:
