timore in reference to the action of the Governor
of Mrryland, in connextion with the Mayor and
Board of Police of Baltimore, to protect the peace
of city on and after the 19th of April, 1861, and
2000 copies ordered to be printed for the use of
the House, 122.
Message received from, transmitting copy of a
letter from the President of the Western Mary-
land Railroad, in reference to the seizure of en-
gines and cars belonging to that road, by a num-
ber of persons from Baltimore; also, a copy of a
letter complaining of outrages committed by Vir-
ginia troops on our soil; also, a petition from sun-
dry citizens of Montgomery county, asking for
protection for transportation of produce to the
District of Columbia, referred to committee on
Federal Relations, 123; report made thereon, 139;
resolution that the petition of citizens of Mont-
gomery county, and the letter complaining of out-
rages be referred to the special Commissioner to
Virginia, O. Horsey, Esq., with instructions, &c.,
adopted, 145.
Order, that the committee on Military Affairs
be, and they are hereby respectfully requested to
report to this House, without unnecessary delay,
whether the report made to this House, by the
Gevernor and Adjutant General, on the 8th inst.,
in reply to an order of enquiry addressed to them
by the House of Delegates, on the 29th of April
last, in regard to the $70,000 appropriation, meets
the interrogatories propounded in said order of en-
quiry, and if not, what action is proper to be ta-
ken by this House in the premises, adopted, 132.

General to furnish Washington College with cer-
