Mr. Mills offered the following :

Ordered, That the State Librarian be and he is hereby re-
quested to furnish each newly eltcted member with a copy of
the Maryland Code;

Which was adopted.
On motion Mr. Pitts.

Leave was granted the Military Committee to import a bill
entitled, an act to authorize the organization of an additional
Volunteer Division in the city of Baltimore, which shall be
styled the Guard Division.

Mr. Brining offered the following:

Resolved, That a committee of one from each county of the
State and two from the city of Baltimore, be selected as dele-
gates to the convention to be held at Frankfort, Kentucky,
in response to her call, to consider the present crisis in our
country, and in connection with Kentucky and the other
slaveholding States in convention, endeavor to work out an
adjustment of our national troubles ;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Federal
Relations.

Mr. Mackubin presented an account of James H. Thompson
for publishing brigade orders in the Centreville Times, for
the years 1859, 1860, and 1861, which was,

On motion, referred to the next General Assembly.
On motion of Mr. Chaplain,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill providing for the payment of James Cook, for de-
livering notice of the Governor's Proclamation, convening the
General Assembly, to the Talbot delegation.

Mr. Maxwell offered the following:

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be authorized to
pay Mr. W. H. Hamilton, whatever sum, in their judgment
may be proper, for services rendered in summoning members
of this House, from Kent and Cecil counties, to attend the
extra session of the Legislature ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Goldsborough offered the following :

Ordered; That the Committee on Claims be instructed to
enquire into and arrange the compensation to the Kent
Steamboat Company, for the services of steamer Pioneer, in
bringing the members from the Eastern Shore to the General
Assembly;

Which was adopted.
