Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled, an
act to repeal section 890 of article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, giving certain powers to single Justices of the
Peace in the city of Baltimore, in relation to landlords and
tenants, and to substitute therefor a section increasing the
power of such Justices, in the premises;

Also, the bill entitled, an act to amend sections 91 and 124
of article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws for Dorchester
county, relating to the division of Election Districts in said
county, and apportioning the number of Justices of the Peace
and Constables in said Election Districts;

Severally endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

Also, delivered the bill entitled, an act to repeal section 9
of article 66 of the Code of Public General Laws, and to add
in lieu thereof, the following section;

Which was read the first time; and

On motion of Mr. Briscoe,

It was referred to a select committee consisting of Measrg,
Briscoe, Denison, Scott, Griffith and Wootton.

Also, delivered the bill entitled, an act refunding to Sam-
uel T. Hopkins and John Donovan, certain taxes erroneously
paid by them into the Treasury;
