property that shall be mentioned therein, and that the li-
brarian shall be responsible for all of said books, documents
and property in case of their loss, unless he shall obtain a re-
ceipt in writing for the same from his successor; and the
said, receipt when given shall be equally conclusive against
said successor.

Resolved, That a committee of three, to consist of two
members of the House of delegates and one member of the
Senate, shall be appointed to examine into the state of the li-
brary, and report at the next meeting of this session such
information on the subject as they may think necessary, and
to superintend and direct the making of said catalogue;

Which were read the first time.

The secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to pay L. L. Waters, a certain
sum of money;

Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Claims.

Also, a bill entitled, an act to amend article 93, section 253
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the Bonds of
Register of Wills;

Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on the Judiciary,

Also, a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money
therein named to pay Charles S. Middleton, clerk of the Cir-
cuit court for Prince George's County, for fees in certain
State cases;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Claims.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to change the place of hold-
ing elections in the Sixth election district of Prince George's
County;

Which was read the first and by special order the second
and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:
