upon a bill entitled, an act to change the name of the Far-
mers' and Merchants' Steam Boat Company of Nanticoke
River to the Industrial Enterprise Company;

Which was read the first time.
Mr. Jacobs moved a call of the House.
Pending the call of the roll,
On motion of Mr. Jacobs,

All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
Mr. McCleary offered the following order:

Ordered, That a committee of five be appointed to exam-
ine the books kept by the Clerk of the committee on Claims,
and report to this House the said examination to be made
only during the session of this House.

Mr. Chaplain proposed the following amendment:

Provided, said investigation does not extend farther back
than the commencement of the present session;

Which was adopted.

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
act to make valid the qualifications of all military officers
who have been appointed since the enactment of the Code of
Public General Laws;
