Mr. Warfield presented the memorial of merchants of Bal-
timore city for a reduction of tax on auction sales;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Kessler offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims pay F. T. Rhodes
one dollar per day for opening and taking care of this hall
during the recess;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Brining moved a reconsideration of the vote by which
the following order was adopted yesterday:

That when the House adjourns, the position of Esma Lowe,
folder, and George W. Howard, assistant folder, be vacated,
and Thomas Mason be reinstated in his regular position as
folder to this House.
