BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 30th, 1861.
GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE :

We propose, with the consent of the Senate, to appoint a
joint committee of three from each house, to take into con-
sideration the compensation of the members of the General
Assembly, so far as it relates to mileage. We have appoint-
ed on the part of the House, Messrs. Burgess, Maxwell and
Welch.

Mr. Salmon offered the following :

Ordered, That the Speaker appoint an additional page to
this house:

The Speaker appointed John W. Gallagher, under the
above order.

On motion of Mr. Coudy, leave was granted the commit-
tee on the Judiciary to report a bill to exempt a certain a-
mount of property from execution.

On motion of Mr. Pitts, the resolutions proposed by him
on Monday, in reference to the extraordinary condition of
things which existed in Baltimore on Friday, the 19th day
of April, 1861, and which has since existed, were referred to
the committee on the Judiciary, with leave to report by bill
or otherwise.

Mr. McCleary moved that the House do now adjourn.
