Mr. Stake presented the petition of six hundred citizens of
Washington county, praying the passage of a law authorizing
the banks to issue small notes of a less denomination than
five dollars ;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Curren-

cy.

Mr. Harrison, chairman of committee on Currency, made
an unfavorable Report upon the leave granted them to intro-
duce a bill, entitled, an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, to issue small notes to a limited amount,
to be used as currency ; and moved that it be referred to the
Baltimore city delegation .

Mr. Compton offered the following :

Ordered, That the Adjutant General be, and he is hereby
requested to report to this House, at the earliest moment pos-
sible, the names, .number and rank of all officers holding
.military commissions in this State, to what companies and
.regiments attached, and the date of their commissions. Also,
the number of regiments in the State and the districts in

which they are located.
