ceive pay during the recess is conceded, but in view of the
financial condition of the State, the undersigned would re-
spectfully suggest that the mileage, according to the rate
established by the committee appointed at the extra session,
be taken by the members and officers, and he therefore sub-
mits the following order:
Ordered, That the committee on Claims are hereby di-
rected to pay to the members and officers of the Senate and
House of Delegates the mileage paid at the extra session of
this General Assembly; and also that the members and offi-
cers from Anne Arundel county be paid forty dollars each;
from Baltimore county, forty-five dollars; from Calvert coun-
ty, forty-five dollars; from Charles county, fifty dollars;
from Prince George's county, forty dollars.

The bill entitled, an act to amend article LXXXVIII of

and 47 thereof, and substituting the following therefor, in
relation to sheriffs, was read the second, and by special order
