Upon an examination of the volume of laws and his con-
tract and bond, as before referred to, the justice of additional
remuneration will be so apparent, I think, as to admit of
no doubt.

And, as in duty bound, he will ever pray,. &c.,

Which was referred to the next General Assembly.

Mr. Harrison, chairman of the committee on Currency, re-
ported favorable upon the bill, entitled an act to amend
Article XII, of the Code of Public General Laws relative to
the payment of specie by the banks of this State ;

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Pitts, the bill was ordered to a second
reading.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Chaplain proposed the following amendment:

Strike out in the second section, the word "four" and in-
sert the word "two" ;

Which was concurred in.

The bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Chaplain, the second reading of the bill
was re-considered.

Said bill then being upon its second reading,

Mr. Harrison, proposed the following amendment :

Sixth line, section first, strike out the word "repealed"
and insert the word "suspended" ;

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was then read the second, and by
special order the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follow:
